Parties for Children, Betty Crocker, 1964
"Children love parties--they are such eager and enthusiastic guests. And they learn to be good hosts and hostesses, too, when you let them help you plan parties for their friends." pg. 5
Betty Crocker's Parties for Children by Lois M. Freeman, illustrated by Judy and Barry Martin, 1964. This midcentury party book is filled with bright colorful and fun pictures targeting 5-to-11 year-olds. It is interesting that there is a picture of a women in the front that is presumed to be Betty Crocker as well as a letter to the 'Party Giver' signed by Betty Crocker, whom we all now know is the creation of General Mills marketing. This is a charming children's' party book never less.
