This vintage restaurant guide from the 1940s provides over a thousand short restaurant reviews sorted by state and city.  If Mr. Duncan Hines (an actual man, not just a company) was still living today, he would be the star of a culinary travel show on the Food Network or Travel Channel.  This book would make a wonderful travel companion to take on a current day road trip to discover how many restaurants from the 1940s are still in operation.
