Bakelite Yellow Handle Sharpening Steel

Vintage Yellow Bakelite Handle Sharpening Steel. Handle is smooth and shiny with slight swirl yellow tones. The bolster in the middle adds a banded detail to the steel. A note on etiquette: generally, the carving knife should be sharpened in the kitchen, but when you have a this lovely steel, it can be brought to the table and laid horizontally above the platter with the handle facing left so in a position ready for use.

Condition:  Vintage. Very slight scratches on steel but still has an excellent shine. Handle is very good to excellent.
