Vintage Gilchrist 31 Automatic Ice Cream Scoop with Wood Handle, Size 8 Scoop. This soda fountain accessory received a patent in 1914 was known during that time as ice cream dishers or ice cream ladles. Original box (not included) contained the following instructions: To take apart, unhook the spring clip (which is carried by the scraper shaft) from the handle, then release the little point on the scraper from the bowl, and the scraper and its shaft and cog can be lifted out. To remove the thumb piece and spring, take out the cotter pin and lift apart.
